The folly of India's opposition to the Decision Review System was laid bare as umpires Aleem Dar and Tony Hill made six glaring errors.

PICTURE DISPUTE

We are unable to carry live pictures from the First Test in Ahmedabad due to a dispute between the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and international news organisations.

The BCCI has refused access to Test venues to established picture agencies Getty Images and Action Images and other Indian photographic agencies.

MailOnline consider this action to be a strike against? press freedom and supports the action to boycott BCCI imagery.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India have resisted the use of technology because of doubts over accuracy, particularly in relation to the Hawk-Eye system used for lbw decisions.

India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni was seen wagging a finger and arguing with the umpires on a day which saw his side denied four plumb lbws.

His behaviour is likely to lead to disciplinary charges by the International Cricket Council, although his frustrations can be understood after Kevin Pietersen, Samit Patel and Alastair Cook, in each innings, all survived appeals which technology would have correctly given out.

England were also victim of two questionable lbw calls which resulted in the dismissals of Patel and Stuart Broad, prompting wicketkeeper Matt Prior to say: 'There's technology that can help in making split-second decisions so why wouldn't you use it?

'We've seen it in a number of series now where it's worked very well. It's not about trying to sneak wickets using technology. It's about eradicating major errors that can happen.'
